Window Film Installation Guide
Transforming your space is simple with Artscape. Our window films apply easily using just water and a little soap. With a few thoughtful steps, you’ll achieve a custom, design-forward finish that adds privacy, beauty, and light.
How to Measure
Include a 1/16” gap between the film edges and the window frame (inside the gasket).
How to Install
- STEP 1:Clean the glass
- STEP 2:Measure your window
- STEP 3:Trim the film to size
- STEP 4:Spray glass with soap solution
- STEP 5:Remove backing
- STEP 6:Apply film to your window
- STEP 7:Spray the film with soap solution
- STEP 8:Squeegee out any bubbles
- STEP 9:Wipe off excess moisture
How to Tile
Artscape can easily be cut or tiled together to fit any size window. The pattern repeats left to right and top to bottom on the factory edges. Each sheet is one repeat.

Using 4mm adhesive lead strip I recreated faux lead light on the window light next to my front door using ‘rain’ and ‘twiggy’.
I love the realistic texture integrated into the film compared to cheaper options that just print the texture on.
A bonus is how much privacy it created using these films. I was so surprised at how private it made our space even with the indoor lights on when viewed from outside at night. You couldn’t see inside at all.

I love how this looks. It doesn't have as much coverage as the rice paper version and i wish there were grids on the back for convenience.

Different patterns offer different levels of privacy and Rain offers a medium level, while Rice Paper offers a high level, to accommodate the different privacy level needs for various spaces. Each pattern on our website has an interactive slider that illustrates how much can be seen through it with objects placed 3 feet away from it, in case you need to get an idea of the visibility ahead of time.
