Window Film Installation Guide
Transforming your space is simple with Artscape. Our window films apply easily using just water and a little soap. With a few thoughtful steps, you’ll achieve a custom, design-forward finish that adds privacy, beauty, and light.
How to Measure
Include a 1/16” gap between the film edges and the window frame (inside the gasket).
How to Install
- STEP 1:Clean the glass
- STEP 2:Measure your window
- STEP 3:Trim the film to size
- STEP 4:Spray glass with soap solution
- STEP 5:Remove backing
- STEP 6:Apply film to your window
- STEP 7:Spray the film with soap solution
- STEP 8:Squeegee out any bubbles
- STEP 9:Wipe off excess moisture
How to Tile
Artscape can easily be cut or tiled together to fit any size window. The pattern repeats left to right and top to bottom on the factory edges. Each sheet is one repeat.

Light and airy, Flight adds sparkle and soft bits of color to the home. If you look closely, hidden imagery of birds and butterflies can be found throughout this stylized design. A lovely addition to a children’s room or kitchen window.
- Each 5" x 8" sample is trimmed from the full film, so the portion you receive may vary. Samples represent the material and look, not the full pattern repeat.

So the architect of my condo thought it a good idea to put the bathroom with a with window next to the front door. While architecturally it looks fine, it means anyone going by can see you on the toilet or worse yet, give them a full frontal as you stand up. This fixes that problem perfectly allowing both light and privacy!

Built a new house with a large picture window over the soaker tube in our master bath. No neighbors but still felt exposed so I used artscape film and I love the look and the feeling of privacy. Worth the price and easy to DIY.

Easy to apply and adds calm colors to the space. Looks like stained glass even if you don’t cut it just right - After some wrong cuts I had to piece things together and it worked. I love a forgiving and hardy material - I’ll be using the scraps to make something new too!

Ordered 3 rolls of "Flight" based on my needs and the amounts per roll. The application was problem-free and the coverage is perfect. My only issue is that the pattern itself is so light against the windows that it actually looks faded. The previous film I purchased for my kitchen was the "NewLeaf" and even after having it on my back door for more than 5 years, it still retained its brightness. I guess I just expected all colored Artscape film to be as colorful.

Yes, the appearance of different patterns will vary depending on the amount of light, time of day, and the colors of the surrounding environment showing through the window. We do recommend taking advantage of the sample sizes we offer on our website to really get an idea as to how a particular pattern will perform in your space. Good to hear that the installation went well and you are achieving the privacy you were looking for.
