Birds often mistake reflections of trees and sky for open habitat, leading to accidental window collisions. Artscape Bird Deflectors use UV-reflective technology that is visible to most birds but subtle to the human eye, helping break up reflections and making glass easier for birds to recognize as a barrier.

For best results: Apply bird deflectors to the outside of the glass and space them 2–4 inches apart. We recommend installing with water to help ensure a long-lasting hold.

For best effectiveness, always apply bird deflectors to the exterior surface of the glass.

1. Clean the exterior glass thoroughly.
2. Spray the glass generously with water.
3. Gently peel the bird deflector from the backing sheet.
4. Place the side of the bird deflector that was against the backing directly onto the glass.
5. Position on the exterior glass surface.
6. Smooth into place using a squeegee or plastic application card, working from the center outward to remove excess water and air bubbles.

Placement
To help birds recognize the window as a barrier, begin near the center of the problem area and work outward. Space bird deflectors approximately 2–4 inches apart. Closer spacing provides greater protection by breaking up reflections that birds may perceive as open flight paths.

Care
The UV-reflective coating gradually fades with sun exposure and weather. For continued effectiveness, replace bird deflectors approximately every 6 months.
